ABSTRACT

Objective:To evaluate the intelligence, movement and physical development of 2-month-old infants, and to explore the influencing factors of early infant development. Methods:A total of 203 infants aged 42 days who underwent physical examination in the Department of Neonatology of the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University from May to December 2021 were selected as subjects. At the age of 2 months, 184 infants were followed up for their intelligence, movement and physical development. The intelligence and movement development of infants were evaluated with the intelligence development scale. Their body length, weight, and head circumference were measured, and physical development was assessed by Z-score method. Logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of intelligence, movement and physical development of 2-month-old infants. Results:The median mental developmental index (MDI) of 184 2-month-old infants was 101; the median psychomotor developmental index (PDI) was 89; the body length was (59.3 ± 2.0) cm, the body weight was (5.8 ± 0.6) kg, and the head circumference was (38.9 ± 1.1) cm. Multiple logistic regression analysis showed that the influencing factors of MDI were maternal delivery age and infant gestational age [odds ratio ( OR) = 0.849, 0.463, P < 0.05]; the influencing factors of PDI were maternal prenatal education and average sleep time per night during pregnancy ( OR = 0.512, 0.666, P < 0.05); the influencing factor of body mass index (BMI) was maternal iodine supplements during pregnancy ( OR = 2.858, P = 0.018); the influencing factor of length-for-age Z-score (LAZ) was maternal prenatal education during pregnancy ( OR = 0.265, P = 0.026); the influencing factors of weight-for-age Z-score (WAZ) included maternal average sleep time per night, the frequency of sleeping time exceeding 12 am and the average weekly exercise duration during pregnancy ( OR = 0.277, 1.106, 0.990, P < 0.05). Conclusion:Maternal delivery age, prenatal education, sleep duration, intake of iodine supplements, exercise duration during pregnancy, and infant gestational age are factors affecting the intelligence, movement and physical development of 2-month-old infants, which should be paid attention to and measures should be taken to improve the population quality.

ABSTRACT

With the effective implementation of universal salt iodization measures to prevent iodine deficiency disorders, severe iodine deficiency in pregnant women has been rare. However, due to the difficulty in changing the state of iodine deficiency in natural environment and insufficient iodine intake in diet to meet the iodine nutritional needs during pregnancy, mild or moderate iodine deficiency in pregnancy still occurs frequently, and may have adverse effects on the development of nervous system of their offspring. At the same time, the effect of excessive iodine intake of pregnant women on the development of nervous system of their offspring can not be ignored. In addition, if the ability of thyroid regulation in pregnant women is out of balance that leads to thyroid dysfunction and even hormone secretion disorder, which can not meet the needs of fetal growth and development, it may also affect the nervous system function of their offspring. This paper summarizes the human population studies in recent years: the effects of maternal mild to moderate iodine deficiency, iodine excess, abnormal thyroid function and thyroid hormone treatment on neuro development of offspring, and the mechanism of corresponding animal iodine related exposure experiments, in order to provide scientific basis for "precise prevention and treatment" of iodine deficiency disorders in the future.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To understand the neglect status among preschool non-only-child in Nantong, and to provide theoretical basis for the prevention and intervention of non-only child neglect.@*Methods@#Using the method of random cluster sampling, a total of 1 141 parents of children from 9 kindergartens in the main urban area of Nantong were investigated with National Neglect Norm Scale for Children aged 3 to 6 years.@*Results@#The neglect rate of preschool children in Nantong City was 28.6%, with neglect score being (40.21±6.67). The neglect rate of non-only-child was 32.6%, with neglect score being (41.14±6.73). The total and physical neglect rate of non-only-child were higher than that of only child, and the total neglect score and physical, emotional, educational, safety, medical neglect dimensional scores were higher than that of only-child, the difference were all statistically significant ( χ 2/ t = 6.21, 17.57; 3.95, 4.98, 3.45, 2.70, 2.01, 3.11, P <0.05). In non-only-child, univariate analysis showed that there were no significant differences in neglect rate and scores among children by gender and family types ( P >0.05); There was no significant difference in the child neglect rate between different age groups and children in different families ( χ 2 =3.59, 2.99, P >0.05), but there was a statistically significant difference in the degree of neglect ( t=2.79, 3.04, P <0.05). The neglect rate and score of non-only-child with high level of family income, parental education and parental relationship was relatively low, while the neglect rate and score in non-only-child whose grandparents serving as primary caregiver were higher ( P <0.05). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that family monthly income less than 5 000 yuan was associated with 2.73 times higher risk of neglect compared to children with family monthly income more than 12 000 yuan. The risk of neglect among children whose grandparents serving as caregivers was associated with 2.17 times higher than children with parental care. The risk of neglect of children with poor parental relationship was 2.29 times higher than that of children with good parental relationship ( P <0.05).@*Conclusion@#The neglect among preschool non-only-child in Nantong City is common. Improvement in family economic status, parental care and parent relationship might help reduce neglect among preschool non-only-child.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate whether the existence of thoracic artery blood supply in peripheral pulmonary lesions is the key factor affecting the accuracy of contrast-enhanced ultrasound in differentiating benign and malignant lesions. Methods:From June 2020 to December 2021, a total of 170 patients with peripheral pulmonary lesions were consecutively enrolled in Xi′an Chest Hospital, and all patients underwent conventional ultrasound and contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS). Taking ΔAT(lesion-lung arrival time difference ) of 2.5 seconds as the cut-off point for differentiating benign and malignant lesions(ΔAT<2.5 s for benign, ΔAT≥2.5 s for malignant), and the final pathological results as the gold standard, these patiens were divided into correct classification group and wrong classification group, and the main influencing factors of wrong classification were analyzed. Results:Compared with the correct classification group, the proportion of thoracic artery blood supply in the wrong classification group was significantly higher ( P<0.001). After adjusting the dendritic venous reflux, thoracic artery blood supply was an independent influencing factor for CEUS misclassification ( OR=3.531, 95% CI=1.805-6.908, P<0.001). In the patients with thoracic artery blood supply, the sensitivity of the absence of dendritic venous reflux in judging malignant peripulmonary lesions was 75.0%, the specificity was 91.3%, and the area under the ROC curve (AUC) was 0.832 (95% CI=0.715-0.915, P<0.001), while the sensitivity, specificity and AUC of CEUS in judging malignant peripulmonary lesions were 68.7%, 67.4% and 0.659 (95% CI=0.528-0.775, P=0.006), and there was significant statistical difference in the AUC between them( P<0.001). In the group of patients without thoracic arterial blood supply, the sensitivity of the absence of dendritic venous reflux in judging malignant peripulmonary lesions was 82.8%, the specificity was 63.3%, and the AUC was 0.730 (95% CI=0.636-0.811, P<0.001), while the sensitivity, specificity and AUC of CEUS in judging malignant peripulmonary lesions were 62.1%, 81.0% and 0.684 (95% CI=0.587-0.770, P=0.003), and there was no significant difference in the AUC between them ( P=0.425). Conclusions:The presence of thoracic artery blood supply significantly decrease the diagnostic efficiency of CEUS in differentiating benign and malignant of peripheral pulmonary lesions. For peripheral pulmonary lesions with thoracic arterial blood supply, the diagnostic efficiency of dendritic venous reflux is better than CEUS, while for lesions without thoracic artery supply, the diagnostic efficiency of dendritic venous reflux is equivalent to CEUS.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the effects of ursolic acid (UA) on the proliferation and differentiation of osteoclasts (OC), and to explore its role in orthodontic force-induced root resorption and its relationship with OC.Methods:The mononuclear / macrophage cells RAW264.7 were induced to the OC.Tacrolimus acid phosphatase (TRAP) staining and bone resorption lacunae observation were used to identify the induction.CCK-8 method was used to select the appropriate concentration of UA for RAW264.7 cell-free biotoxicity and to observe its effect on the proliferation and differentiation of RAW264.7.In experimental groups, UA with gradient concentrations (1.0,2.5,5.0,10.0,20.0and 40.0 μmol·L-1)were added.UA was not added in control group. Results:The TRAP staining and bone resorption lacunae observation showed that after the RAW264.7 cells were induced for 5 d, the TRAP staining positive cells were found;the resorption lacunae were rounded, and oval, etc,the bottom wall was coarser, and the boundary was clear, which indicated that the RAW264.7 cells were successfully differentiated into the osteoclasts. The CCK-8 detection results showed that high concentration of UA (> 10.0 μmol·L-1) significantly inhibited the proliferation of OC;the appropriate concentration of UA (5.0 μmol·L-1) was in the biological safety concentration range and could inhibit the OC proliferation;low concentration of UA (<2.5 μmol·L-1) had no effect. Conclusion:RANKL can induce the differentiation and maturation of RAW264.7 cells.UA is correlated with the proliferation and differentiation of OC;UA has inhibitory effect on OC at the appropriate concentration (5.0 μmol·L-1) in a time-dependent manner.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the natural head position and cervical posture in the patients with different vertical facial patterns with skeletal class Ⅰ relationship, and to clarify the relationships between vertical facial patterns and natural head position, cervical posture in the patients with skeletal class Ⅰ relationship. Methods 94 patients aged 8- 15 years old with skeletal class Ⅰ relationship were selected as the subjects. The subjects were classified into high angle group, average angle group, and low angle group according to their mandibular plane angles. The cephalometric radiographs in natural head position were taken, and the variables representing craniofacial morphology, head position, and craniocervical posture were measured. The intergroup differences in variables were compared. Results The inclinations of mandible to the true vertical and cervical column (ML/VER,ML/OPT,ML/CVT)were smallest in high angle group, and they were largest in low angle group (P 0.05). Conclusion The significant differences exist in natural head position and cervical posture among the patients with skeletal class Ⅰ relationship with different vertical facial patterns (high angle, average angle, low angle);the subjects with high angle show extended head position and cervical posture, while the subjects with low angle exhibit the opposite tendency.
